Honestly, though, I think that you would find Chromecast to be more enjoyable to use and more likely to use it more often than you ever would the functions of a smart TV. For $30-40, it wouldn't be much of a loss if you don't use it, especially since you can give it as a gift to someone (and I'm sure they would enjoy using it). Since the update that allows Miracast support, Chromecast is more useful and in some ways better than most other android device and especially "smart" tv functions. There recently has been an update that allows for Miracast support (allows the mirroring of android device screens on your TV, including games, videos, pictures, web browsing, etc.). The Google Chromecast is usually much faster, easier to use, much better user interface, and has many developers working to bring much more content, support for devices and content, applications, and much more. Smart TV's, except for a select few models that are mostly too expensive to think about purchasing, are generally slow, the interface very clunky and not user friendly, and very limited in uses.
